Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Address customers' complaints or concerns. Mountain driving expertise. Professionalism in customer service. Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Documentation knowledge: Bill of lading. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Type of trucking and equipment: Refrigerated. Tractor-trailer. Transportation/travel experience: Local. Short-haul. Security and safety: Valid passport. Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Medical exam. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Overtime required. Sitting. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone.
