Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Architectural firm. Tasks: Create two-dimensional (2-D) drawings with computer-aided design (CAD). Analyze technical documents and reports. Prepare working drawings. Monitor and inspect work. Estimate costs and materials. Assist in design development. Prepare presentation graphics and drawings. Serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals working with a client group. Project management. Co-ordinate project. Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Review and examine insurance claims . Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team. Supervision: Working groups. Staff in various areas of responsibility. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. Autodesk REVIT. MS Outlook. MS Word. SketchUp. Area of work experience: Design.
