<p><strong>School Psychologist, 100% Permanent</strong></p><p><strong>Bulletin Number:</strong></p><p>001-SPS-25</p><p><strong>Date Posted:</strong></p><p>April 29, 2025</p><p><strong>School:</strong></p><p>Garden Valley School Division (Division Office)</p><p><strong>POSITION DESCRIPTION:</strong><strong> </strong></p><p>Garden Valley School Division invites applications for the full-time permanent position (1.0 FTE) of School Psychologist <strong>effective </strong><strong>September 2, 2025.</strong></p><p>Responsibilities & Requirements for this position will include:</p><ul><li>Assessment and evaluation of students with intellectual, social, and emotional needs</li><li>Reporting to professional staff and parents on assessments</li><li>Providing follow-up support on programming recommendations</li><li>Working collaboratively with other members of the Clinical Services Team as well as the school team involved with students displaying intellectual, social, and emotional needs.</li><li>Providing threat assessments if the need arises</li><li>Being a part of the Crisis Response Team if the need arises</li><li>Providing staff development on appropriate topics related to this field.</li><li>Liaise with outside agencies to provide services to students and families as appropriate. </li></ul><br><br><p><strong>REQUIRED AND/OR PREFER</strong><strong>R</strong><strong>ED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><ul><li>Master's Degree in School Psychology with appropriate supervised clinical experience</li><li>Valid Manitoba School Psychologist Certificate (or eligibility for)</li><li>Successful completion of formal training in psycho-educational assessments</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective organizational and computer skills, and the ability to meet multiple deadlines</li><li>Strong clinical skills and a broad knowledge base in child and adolescent development, cognitive processes, mental health, school and community systems, learning, and behaviour disorders</li><li>Experience working with students who have a broad range of exceptional needs.</li><li>Training in Threat Assessment/Trauma Informed Care would be an asset</li></ul><p></p><p><strong><i>This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) and Child Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
