Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Office. Tasks: Monitor and supervise programs that maximize oil and gas extraction recovery . Recommend oil recovery techniques, which extend the economic life of wells. Select sites. Design and select artificial lift machinery, and well and surface production equipment and systems. Design, develop and co-ordinate the installation, maintenance and operation of subsea well-head and production equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Physically demanding.
