*Summary*
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for directing the workforce and maximizing space and equipment resources to meet and maintain client requirements while maintaining safety standards and personnel satisfaction that align to the organization?s objectives. As a leader within the operations? team and by effectively and efficiently managing priorities, the Operations Supervisor is a key contributor to the achievement of the businesses strategic plan and operations deliverables. managing and leading a team to achieve organizational goals. They are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of their team, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and in accordance with quality standards.
*Responsibilities:*
* Focus on warehouse operation?s performance to ensure: Effective space management, maximizing revenue per square foot. Efficient use of time, maximizing revenue per labour hour. Security of building, safeguarding client inventory and all Company assets.
* Ensure that cohesiveness exists between warehouse and customer service (and related support departments) and that all efforts are focused to mutually serve the client and their customers with a high level of excellence and development of potential service enhancement.
* Review orders and assign manpower accordingly, managing staff and overtime, scheduling shifts and resolving interpersonal conflict.
* Be visible on the warehouse floor, checking throughout the shift to ensure proper utilization of systems and standard operating procedures, that scope of work definitions are used, and that quality and safety standards are met.
* Achieve all KPI productivity targets (by area) for the shift, particularly those important to the client, and recommend enhancements to standard procedures, complying with the requirements for all internal checklists and external certification or audit programs.
*General Responsibilities:*
* Orient, train and develop staff to reach their maximum potential, create an effective and efficient team.
* Identify training needs within the team and provide training and guidance to team members. Ability to train on processes, such as, receiving, picking , operation of material handling equipment, dispatch responsibilities.
* Manage staff effectively, schedule shifts, manage overtime, and resolve conflict issues.
* Ensure all Food Products are protected by ensuring the GMP program is executed at the site level. Ensure all required forms and reports are completed correctly and within due dates. Address immediately any identified food safety risks that may occur.
* Comply with requirements for paperwork, documentation and reporting; report issues and incidents, and provide information as required on performance reporting, safety, etc to management.
* Provide leadership and supervision to employees through constructive feedback, and fair and consistent evaluations to employees.
* Coordinate and book incoming shipments with CSR?s and/or clients, review paperwork and assign unloading tasks, direct the placement of incoming product for storage, resolve all receiving variances.
* Communicate with clients on specific issues and areas of potential service enhancement, maintain good client relations using positive communications.
* Ensure warehouse equipment is operated in accordance with standard operating and safety procedures, completing all required checks. Ensure equipment is maintained in good order, request repairs/replacements.
* Maintain the organization, appearance and cleanliness of the facility; monitor trucks/containers for cleanliness to ensure a safe environment for the products.
