We are currently searching for a dynamic Health, Safety, Security & Environment Administrator for our Terminal located in St. John's. Reporting to the Safety, Security & Compliance Manager, the incumbent will promote and enhance the overall safety culture of the St. John's Operations by working with unionized and non-unionized staff to foster an enhanced relationship and safety education. He / she will assist the Manager of Safety, Security and Compliance in all activities associated with the companies Health, Safety, Security and Environment Programs.Tasks and responsibilitiesCoordinate the planning and execution of internal and external training programs for unionized and non-unionized personnelMaintain and manage training database for unionized and non-unionized staffFacilitate and conduct safety and competency training for office, terminal and supervisory staff. Work with third party training providers to coordinate and schedule required trainingAssist departmental managers and supervisors in the completion of initial incident/accident reports as requiredAssist with the coordination of Safety and Security drills and exercisesRespond to off-site safety, environmental and compliance incidents when requiredSupport the management of Oceanex's Hazard and Safety Recognition ProgramsConduct workplace inspections and internal audits of the HSSE program, as assignedPrepare monthly HSSE statistical data reports for company-wide performance. Identify trending information and assist with the implementation of various safety campaigns.Assist in managing workplace injuries, WorkplaceNL and disability case management (reporting, ESRTW planning, monitoring). Work with third party claims management company to effectively manage all workplace injury claimsProvide advice and counsel to supervisory personnel on OHS procedures, standards and guidelinesSupport and promote the JOHS Committee activities as neededResearch, recommend and complete revisions and enhancements to safety and security procedures and policiesAssist in the management and execution of the Oceanex Emergency Response ProgramCompile and track Inland Compliance documentation for NL trucking operationsSupport and assist with the management of the HSSE department budget and procurement process through processing invoices and managing purchase ordersPerform other duties within the safety, operations and compliance departments as required or assigned.QualificationsPost-secondary education from a recognized institution in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent combination of experience and educationFormalized training in auditing of accredited management systems (an asset);Knowledge of provincial and Federal safety regulations2-3 years experience in an OHS position in an industry settingExperience working in the transportation and cargo shipping industry (an asset)Experience working in a union settingExperience working with claims managementComputer literate.SkillsStrong work ethicAbility to work independently with little supervisionExcel in high work pace environmentExcellent oral and written communication skillsProblem solving skillsPublic speaking capabilities.You are interested and believe you have the skills we are looking for?
