In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this role includes direct mentorship from the Director of Finance with a long-term progression plan to evolve into the Director of Finance role.</p><p>This job description provides an overview of key responsibilities and is not an exhaustive list of duties.</p><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></b></p><p><b><strong>Leadership & Team Support</strong></b></p><p>? Supervise, mentor, and support the Senior Project Accountant.</p><p>? Supervise, mentor, and support the Junior Accountant, including reviewing reconciliations (bank, credit cards, etc.) and guiding daily tasks.</p><p><b><strong>Financial Operations & Reporting</strong></b></p><p>? Collaborate closely with the Director, Finance on day-to-day accounting functions, including cheque runs, payroll, and financial guidance for project managers.</p><p>? Play an active role in preparing monthly financial statements, including consolidated statements, forecasts, and projections.</p><p>? Support the preparation of materials for shareholder and Board of Directors meetings.</p><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Analysis & Special Projects</strong></b></p><p>? Assist in financial modeling and sensitivity analysis for potential acquisitions.</p><p>? Support accounting activities for acquired companies as required.</p><p>? Develop deep expertise in Deltek Ajera, including building widgets and tools that provide actionable insights for project managers and the finance/executive teams.</p><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Key Performance Indicators</strong></b></p><p>? Deliver high-quality work that meets or exceeds expectations of the Director, Finance and the Executive Team.</p><p>? Contribute to a positive learning environment that enhances financial project management across the firm.</p><p>? Build strong working relationships across service areas and with external partners (financial, legal, insurance, etc.).</p><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Minimum Requirements - Knowledge & Abilities</strong></b></p><p>? 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with preference for articling experience at one of the big 5 accounting firms and controller or assistant controller experience within a professional services environment.</p><p>? Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.</p><p>? Self-motivated, able to work independently, and comfortable managing competing priorities.</p><p>? Calm and professional under pressure with strong attention to detail and accuracy.</p><p>? Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with a curiosity for process improvement.</p><p>? Well organized with strong time-management skills.</p><p>? Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.</p><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Education & Certification</strong></b></p><p>?
