We are seeking a full-time EXPERIENCED Bagel Roller and Baker to join our team. As a key member of our bakery, you will be responsible for preparing, baking, and maintaining the highest quality bagels for our customers. *The ideal candidate MUST have prior experience in professional from scratch bagel baking and experience in using a wood fired oven.* *Responsibilities:* * Prepare, hand shape, and bake bagels using traditional methods; * Prepare dough ensuring all recipes and methods are adhered to in order to consistently produce a high quality bagel; * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; * Assist with inventory management and ingredient preparation as needed; * Provide excellent customer service when needed, maintaining a friendly, welcoming environment for our customers; * Follow health and safety guidelines, including food handling and sanitation. *Qualifications:* * *Proven experience as a scratch baker,* with direct experience with bagels * *Experience working with a wood-fired oven is a MUST* * A passion for baking, with a strong attention to detail and an understanding of the process; * Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays (as needed); * A team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude; * Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods, rolling and handling dough; * Although this is a hands on baking position, prior supervisory and baking team leadership experience will be taken into consideration in our hiring & compensation process. *What We Offer:* * Competitive hourly wage (based on experience) and a share of store-wide tips. * A friendly, family-like atmosphere where your contributions are valued. * Employee discounts on both food and retail items. * Free daily staff meal. * Paid time off and paid sick days. *Who we Are:* We are Ottawa?s destination for Montreal-style bagels, hot out of the wood burning oven every day.
