About the Training Finder

As part of the Government of Canada’s commitment to building a resilient and adaptable workforce, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) is developing the Training Finder to offer Canadians easy access to learning and training opportunities.

What is the Training Finder and who is it for?

The new Training Finder will serve as a national hub for short-duration training courses offered by recognized learning institutions and training providers across Canada. It’s designed for workers, employers, and career practitioners, providing valuable resources to help individuals:

  • Search for courses that align with their training needs
  • Learn about in-demand jobs and the skills they require
  • Assess their training needs based on their career goals and current skills
  • Find available financial resources to assist with training costs

Employers can also use it to find training courses for their employees, enabling them to quickly upskill to meet current and future business needs.

How is the Training Finder developed?

The Training Finder prototype is developed to integrate seamlessly with existing classification systems by linking courses to skills, subjects, and occupations, specifically:

  • National Occupation Classification (NOC)
  • Occupational and Skills Information System (OaSIS) profiles
  • Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP)

Throughout the development process, user experience testing is being conducted to ensure that the Training Finder meets the needs of the public.
