The New Vista Society is looking for a Music Therapist to join our team in Burnaby, BC.
*As a Music Therapist you will:*
* Develop, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate music therapy programs
* Maintain an active clinical caseload providing assessment, treatment, documentation and education
* Collaborate with the Manager regarding operational issues related to the provision of music therapy.
*Job Summary*
Directly reporting to the Recreation Manager, the position involves programming for 240 residents in a complex care setting.
The Music Therapist is responsible for adopting a holistic approach the Music Therapist working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team supporting the needs of the residents. Is responsible for the development new music programs based upon resident needs/interests. Documents residents involved in programs.
*Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications*
*Qualifications: *
* Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy
* Eligible for full, accredited membership in the Canadian Association for Music Therapy
* On year of recent, related experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to communicate effectively verbally, non-verbally and in writing
* Ability to supervise
* Ability to interact effectively with others
* Ability to organize workload and set priorities
* Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings with diverse populations
* Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
* Ability to operate related equipment
